Quantum Wave Solutions is an IT consulting company based between Brussels and Luxembourg, specialised in providing experienced consultants in software engineering, AI/ML, cybersecurity and business analysis to European institutions, large organisations and Luxembourg’s financial sector.
We are recruiting a Senior Business Analyst interested in opportunities with European institutions and institutional clients in Luxembourg.
This role can be a permanent position, fixed-term contract or freelance collaboration, depending on your preference.
The mission
The mission typically involves supporting European institutional clients in the analysis, documentation and follow-up of business and functional requirements for critical IT systems, internal platforms, digital transformation programmes or process-modernisation initiatives.
You will act as a bridge between business stakeholders, IT teams, project managers, architects, developers, testers and external providers. Your role will be to clarify needs, structure requirements, document processes, support prioritisation, facilitate communication and contribute to the delivery of robust and well-documented solutions.
Typical activities may include gathering and analysing business needs, facilitating workshops, documenting business requirements, writing functional specifications, preparing user stories and acceptance criteria, mapping processes, supporting testing and UAT, following up defects, contributing to change management, and ensuring that delivered solutions remain aligned with user needs and institutional standards.
The work is usually carried out in structured, international and multi-vendor environments, where clear documentation, traceability, stakeholder alignment and strong communication are essential.
The mission is primarily based in Luxembourg, with an on-site, hybrid or remote setup depending on the client. Most Luxembourg-based clients currently require 2 to 3 days on site per week.
We are open to permanent employment, fixed-term contract or freelance collaboration, depending on the mission and your preference.
Profile
3 years or more of professional experience as a Business Analyst, Functional Analyst, Product Owner, Project Analyst or similar role in an IT environment.
Experience gathering, analysing and documenting business or functional requirements.
Ability to produce clear and structured deliverables such as business requirements, functional specifications, user stories, use cases, process flows, acceptance criteria, test scenarios, meeting minutes, decision logs or user documentation.
Good understanding of the IT project lifecycle, from analysis and design to development, testing, user acceptance and production support.
Experience working with Agile, Scrum, Kanban, waterfall or hybrid delivery methods.
Experience with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, SharePoint, Visio, BPMN tools or equivalent.
Comfortable working in structured environments with multiple stakeholders, providers and decision layers.
Strong communication skills, analytical mindset, attention to detail and ability to translate business needs into clear functional requirements.
Professional working proficiency in English is required.
French is a strong asset. Other European languages, especially German or Luxembourgish, are also considered a plus.
Authorised to work in the EU — we are not able to sponsor a work permit at this stage.
Additional assets: previous experience with European institutions, public-sector organisations, banking, insurance or regulated environments; knowledge of BPMN, UML, SQL, API concepts, data flows, testing/UAT, GDPR, eIDAS, accessibility, reporting tools or change management.
